The Advanced Television Systems Committee is pleased that the country of Honduras has adopted the ATSC digital television standard for digital terrestrial television broadcasting.
The Comisión Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (CONATEL) decided Jan. 9 to adopt the ATSC standard, which went into effect Jan. 16 when it was published in the "Diario Oficial La Gaceta."
The ATSC DTV standard has been adopted and deployed in Canada, Mexico, the United States and South Korea.
