Hitachi unveils HD camera for robotic studio, field production

Hitachi has introduced the SK-31B, a new multiformat HDTV camera for broadcast, production and imaging professionals.

Hitachi offers both native 720p and 1080i outputs within the SK-31B, eliminating the need for video signal manipulation through third-party converters.

The SK-31B is ideal for organizations seeking cost reduction through deployment of robotics in both studio and field applications.

Hitachi offers both native 720p and 1080i outputs within the SK-31B, eliminating the need for video signal manipulation through third-party converters. The SK-31B can optionally provide downconverted 480i as analog or SDI video outputs in 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio.

The SK-31B comes with a 2RU, half-rack width camera control unit –model CU-3100 - and a digital optical fiber system for video transmission quality. The camera can also be operated in a self-contained mode through local power provision and using its HD-SDI output located at the camera head. A new control panel provides direct connection to the camera head or CCU. All system components are fully compatible and can be used with the existing SK-3300 HDTV camera family.
