HBO Asia Installs SGL Flashnet; Names Tay for Asia

Software Generation Ltd. (SGL), a provider of content archive and storage management software, has announced that Singapore-based HBO Asia has selected SGL FlashNet as a key part of its multi application archive system.

SGL FlashNet is being used by HBO Asia as part of Avid's Interplay non-linear digital workflow engine.

Already a user of FlashNet 5.0 within an Avid environment, HBO Asia has upgraded to FlashNet 6.0 integrating with NVerzion on-air automation. As the core element of the Multi Application system, FlashNet 6.0 controls the archive of material from Omneon playout servers and provides added Interplay archive components.

"The Multi Application archive at HBO Asia is one of the most sophisticated digital archives within the region. By adding SGL FlashNet as a key component, we have reliable software that controls main elements of the archive whilst providing a completely secure storage environment", said Vincent Teo, HBO Asia's senior vice president of technology and operations.

SGL has also just introduced William Tay as operations manager for Southeast Asia. Based in Singapore, Tay will be committed to continuing SGL's customer support within the region. Tay was formerly assistant manager at Avid Technology SEA, and was also regional customer support engineer for Ciprico, Asia Pacific.
