Harris Closes Encoda Purchase

Harris Corp. has closed its purchase of Encoda Systems Holdings, Inc. In a deal worth $340 million, Harris acquires a new line of traffic, billing and promotion scheduling products, as well as automation systems. Encoda has 700 employees, and is made up of what used to be Enterprise Software, Columbine JDS Systems and Drake Automation. Encoda serves more than 600 customers in 34 countries and had revenue for the 12 months ended June 30, of $124 million.

Prior to the purchase, Encoda was owned by an investment group that included Thomas H. Lee Partners, Blackstone Capital Partners, Spire Capital Partners, and Evercore Capital Partners, among others.
