The plasma TV category continues to outpace all other technologies in the 50in and greater screen size segment, and even outpaced the 42in PDP segment for the first time in the second quarter of the year, according to Quixel Research.
Quixel Research’s “Plasma TV Market Review”for the second quarter revealed that the 50in-59in screen size segment topped the overall PDP category representing almost 48 percent of the category in units.
The report also found that the total value of the advanced TV market in the United States was worth almost $6 billion in revenues in the second quarter and that the plasma TV segment represented more than 20 percent of that market.
