FCC Staffers Exit

FCC Chairman Michael Powell announced that FCC General Counsel John Rogovin and Barbara J. Douglas, director of the Office of Workplace Diversity, are leaving the commission.

Rogovin is moving on to become a partner at Wilmer, Cutler, Pickering, Hale and Dorr. He has served as general counsel since February 2003. Douglas, who took over the diversity office in October 2002, will be "pursuing a long-term goal of creating mentoring and networking opportunities for women of color in the legal profession," according to a farewell statement from FCC Chairman Michael Powell.

Austin Schlick, a deputy general counsel who started working for the last February, will serve as acting general counsel. No interim or acting replacement was indicated for Douglas.
