FCC sets date to air on-screen educational/informational bugs
By TVTechnology published
Broadcasters must begin displaying on-screen educational/informational (E/I) bugs during children’s television programs beginning Monday, Sept. 19, according to a new ruling from the FCC.
To get credit toward the FCC’s mandatory three-hour weekly requirement to air educational children’s programming, the bug must air through the entire show.
The E/I obligation is part of a larger bill introduced by the FCC last November. The bug requirement applies to commercial and non-commercial broadcasters.
