FCC refuses to grant SBE stay of rules governing fixed Aural and TV BAS stations
By TVTechnology published
The FCC released an order May 4 denying a second request from the Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) for a stay of the commission’s Broadcast Auxiliary Service rules.
The SBE had sought a stay to rules adopted in a Report and Order governing coordination procedures for fixed Aural BAS stations operation above 994MHz and fixed TV BAS stations operating above 2110MHz.
According to the Order, the commission adopted the procedures so the fixed BAS and Cable Television Relay Service coordination procedures conform to those already in effect for Fixed Microwave Services.
With the denial order, the commission affirmed that the rules became effective Oct. 16, 2003.
