The compact Recon unit (measuring just 2.8 by 3.9 inches), provides all the electronics required for a broadcast-quality DVR on a board.
Fast Forward Video will introduce a new version of its Recon ultra-compact DVR board at NAB2003. The upgraded Recon allows users to view, store, and manipulate Recon-generated video on standard computer systems by retrieving data directly from the hard drive.
The unit’s new “store and view” functions allow video clips recorded by the Recon to be viewed on a PC and archived locally or on a networked server for subsequent access. When combined with notebook hard drives or solid-state memory, the Recon becomes a rugged and miniature DVR well suited for remote, mobile, on-body broadcast and surveillance applications.
The compact Recon unit (measuring just 2.8 by 3.9 inches), provides all the electronics required for a broadcast-quality DVR on a board. With fully integrated Motion JPEG compression capability, the Recon features broadcast-quality video capture and playback at 60 fields per second, resolution greater than 550 lines at 4:1 compression, and compression ratios ranging from 4:1 to 20:1.
