ESPN has launched the expanded EXPN.com, which now features 24/7 coverage of action sports in addition to its role as the online destination for the X Games.
EXPN.com was redesigned to deliver multimedia that includes live online event coverage, an expanding online video library, action sports podcasts, news and information. It also features content resulting from a collaboration with Surfline, a site that provides surfing news, forecasts, reports, live cams, travel and multimedia.
The new design of EXPN.com places emphasis on video and photography, with easier access to both front-page content and archives. The site also provides exclusive access to all X Games video, photos and original content, including all domestic and international X Games events.
The new home page video player provides easier access to the latest clips; video players embedded in pages throughout the site deliver contextually relevant video to the stories; and a new video hub features sport-specific category searching.
In addition to its library of video, audio and photography, the site delivers live audio and video webcasts, including live coverage of action sports events and competitions. The kickoff webcast was the beginning of the Red Bull X-Fighters event from Slane Castle, Ireland, on May 26.
