EVS, Avid Showcase HD Content Transfer

EVS and Avid Technology are demonstrating the seamless interchange of HD material from each other's environments at Broadcast LIVE this week.

The Avid and EVS stands are connected by an IP Ethernet fibre-optic cable for transferring all HD material from an EVS XT2 server to the Avid Interplay production platform. Any HD content acquired from either HD cameras or delivered via satellite and ingested into the XT2 server can be transferred rapidly to the Avid system without additional encoding or decoding.

The system is designed to record audiovisual content in HD directly to the XT2 server for connection to all EVS-operated applications attached to the a 1.5 Gbps SDTI XNet2. EVS XFile software acts as a gateway for any Avid editor to access all recorded footage.

For studio production environments or large sports events, EVS IP Director production management software helps users create logs of all ingested content that can then be quickly and easily retrieved by an Avid editor over the EVS network. The server can also be controlled remotely from the Multicam LSM, EVS instant slow-motion playback and fast turnaround editing application.
