ERI promotes tower safety

If towers do not have ladders and platforms in accordance with OSHA standards, warning signs must be installed. ERI now offers these signs along with other safety signs.

Electronics Research Inc. has launched a comprehensive campaign to make ERI tower owners aware of regulatory changes, safety concerns and maintenance issues related to broadcast towers.

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) may soon require that tower safety climb devices be installed or other positive climber attachments used. If the tower does not have ladders and platforms in accordance with OSHA standards, warning signs must be installed. ERI now offers these signs along with other safety signs.

While tower inspection and maintenance is the responsibility of the tower owner, ERI offers the resources needed to meet this responsibility. For example, ERI can help owners adhere to the standard for inspection frequency described in the TIA/EIA-222-F Standard Manual.

ERI can aid with other safety concerns as well, such as wear and replacement of fiberglass insulator rods, corrosion of underground guy wire anchor shafts, and guy wire vibration issues. In addition, ERI will assist with maintenance issues.
