E Labs Remote Productions takes SSL analog workstation on the road

E Labs Remote Productions, based in Madison, WI, has installed a Solid State Logic (SSL) AWS 900+ Analogue Workstation System on-board its new digital audio workstation-based recording truck. An SSL XLogic X-Rack modular rack system with eight mic amp modules is also included, adding additional channels of SSL’s SuperAnalogue processing.

E Labs Remote Productions, serving the Midwest, is the first recording truck equipped with the AWS 900+, which is used in more than 250 commercial and private studios around the world. The truck is designed to support live concerts, feature film production and other types of video support applications.

E Labs Multimedia chief engineer Jack LeTourneau said the company needed a board that was small enough to fit in a truck but that also sounded good. The AWS 900+, featuring new control protocols for a wide range of digital audio workstations including Nuendo, Logic, Digital Performer and Sonar, provides the dual benefits of a fully featured SuperAnalogue signal path coupled with a comprehensive DAW controller.

Key features include SSL’s SuperAnalogue mic preamps and signal processing; comprehensive center section with monitoring up to 5.1-channel surround sound; direct control of DAW recording, editing and mixing functions; and flexible signal routing.
