Dish Network, DirecTV’s chief DBS competitor, is not exactly slouching in the HD department, either. Dish plans to add more than a half-dozen additional national HD channels to its current lineup by early September.
Along with tacking on several more HD venues later this fall, the DBS firm’s HD menu in a few weeks will consist of nearly 40 HD channels, according to Dish.
By Sept. 1, Dish said it would provide the following HD channels (with some possibly to be offered only as part of bundled packages), along with local HD broadcast channels:
