Daystar TV selects Gepco A/V cables

Daystar Television Network (DTN) has built two new production studios within its 86,000sq ft International Ministry Center, based in Bedford, TX. The studios are wired throughout with high-quality audio and video cables from Gepco. DTN operates more than 40 television stations in major markets across the U.S. and has another 15 construction permits pending.

For installation in Daystar’s two studios, two production control rooms, four video editing suites, two audio editing suites, and a network operations center, DTN purchased several Gepco products, including:

  • VPM2000 HD coax;
  • VDM230 miniature HD coax;
  • VT61859 and LVT61859 triax;
  • 61801EZ single-pair audio and GA618GFC multi-pair audio cables.

Gepco also supplied Daystar with ADC patchbays patchcords, and crimp tools; XLR to BNC adapters; more than 10,000 connectors; DT multichannel snake cable assemblies; and TT to XLR patchcord adapter cables.

The DTN facilities include 17 Hitachi Z3000 and Z4000 cameras in the television studios and remote truck, several Yamaha digital audio consoles in the audio production and editing suites, and seven Miranda Kaleido-K2 modular multi-image display processors to display monitor images in the network operations center, production control and audio rooms.

The network has also installed a Raritan system that enables engineers to monitor any of the 70 computers from any of the 48 dedicated workstations at the headquarters. Raritan is a computer system originally designed to be used by classroom teachers to work concurrently with students.
