Quartz has won a contract to supply the entire video routing infrastructure at DR-Byen, the new multimedia powerhouse for Danmark’s Radio, Copenhagen.

The project will consolidate DR Radio, DR TV, DR Online, DR multimedia, and a concert hall, previously at 12 different addresses, into one central location in the northern part of Orestad on the outskirts of Copenhagen.

Quartz will provide Danmarks Radio (Denmark’s national broadcast organization) with a minimum of four new stand-alone Xenon signal processing routers, plus two Q256 routers with the ability to expand to 512x512.

Quartz secured the contract in close cooperation with its Danish distributor Holmberg-Consult Aps. The overall project began in June 2002 and is due for completion in January 2006. Three thousand DR staff will be located at the new facilities, which will be formally opened by the Queen of Denmark.
