Dallas ABC affiliate WFAA has added the Quantel Clipbox Studio to its Quantel news production tools, which will enable its creative and technical news staff to further enhance live news presentations.

The Clipbox Studio is designed to be scalable to any news production setting and can produce a live broadcast with one operator or serve as a playout device, a storage device for news material or in other capacities. A WFAA official said the tool will give producers more control over graphic elements in newscasts and help them be better prepared to cover breaking news.

The Clipbox Studio also gives WFAA the ability to build an unlimited stack of clips to roll at any time during the newscast. During a breaking news story, the station will be able to create a last-minute package and move it through Quantel's Cliplink into Clipbox without interface from TD/ADs.
