Crispin Partners With Rhozet

Crispin and Rhozet have teamed up to do high-performance transcoding for broadcasters. The Crispin/Rhozet transcoding system handles MXF, GXF, LXF, Panasonic P2, Sony XDCAM, H.264 and other formats.

The transcoding server handles automatic transcoding between formats for editing, distribution and archival purposes. The server also supports play-out devices from companies like Grass Valley, Leitch, Quantel, Omneon and Avid. It can be used as a standalone device, or several can be configured to create a transcoding farm.

Crispin, based in Durham, N.C., currently uses Rhozet transcoding software to generate low-resolution clips in the Crispin NewsCat, a news cataloguing and archiving system. Rhozet technology is also embedded in Crispin's Digital Transfer Agent, which provides automated movement of material from catch servers to video servers for on-air play. Rhozet is located in Santa Clara, Calif.
