Core Networks, a vendor of operations support systems for the cable television and broadband industries, has announced that N.V. Casema has expanded the use of its software suite by deploying CoreMeter.
CoreMeter is a network management system that provides advanced fault, performance, and capacity management, as well as accounting capabilities. As one of the largest cable operators in the Netherlands, Casema currently provides services to 1.4 million subscribers.
CoreMeter has been designed for management of the “last mile” of a hybrid fiber coaxial (HFC) network. The system collects and displays data from cable modems and CMTS units for real-time and historical analysis, providing cable operators with accurate network performance information.
This collection and analysis enables Casema to predict; prevent, and isolate network impairments; identify capacity issues; and monitor subscriber/service usage in a multiple-service-provider environment. The implementation of CoreMeter at Casema follows more than a year of successful operation with CoreOS, the provisioning product in the Core Networks' OSS suite.
