CES: Panasonic 1080p 3D Viera nabs CNET 'Best of Show'

Amid all the fluttering about of 3D at CES this year from various would-be 3D leaders, it was Panasonic that walked away with "Best in Show" recognition for one of its 3D models from CNET.

CNET, which is owned by CBS Corp., bestowed both its "Best of Show" and "Best in Television" awards (as part of it annual "Best of CES" honors) on the Panasonic 1080p 3D Viera plasma panel, recognized as "one of the hottest products at CES" this year, according to CNET and Panasonic.

Panasonic plans to begin shipping its four 3D units this spring — to initially include models in 50-, 54-, 58- and 65-inch class sizes. The four new models also will include IPTV capabilities and will be THX-certified for audio.
