First Nextel Technology Update Meeting June 1

Nextel will hold a series of Technology Updates to discuss technical and process issues affecting the 2 GHz relocation. The meetings are targeted at broadcast group engineering representatives, industry trade associations and interested manufacturers of microwave transmitter, antenna and control system equipment. The first meeting will be held at Nextel in Reston, Va. from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on June 1, 2005.

The proposed agenda for the first meeting includes a preview of a market training program from SignaSys, a presentation by Andy Bater (Tribune Broadcasting) on Implementation/Standards Issues, Craig Strom's (WLS, ABC, Chicago) discussion of "Digital Field Experiences To Date," an item from Jeff Birch from CBS/Viacom Stations titled "Stimulating the New Band Plan, Work Plan Discussion, and a Work Plan Discussion" and a talk about picture quality analysis by Ira Goldstone from Tribune Broadcasting.
