Botswana Awards SPX, Dielectric $11M Telecom Contract
SPX Corporation announced Dielectric has been awarded a $11 million contract to supply equipment to the Botswana Telecommunications Authority (BTA). The equipment will include TCI brand spectrum monitoring systems and custom RF spectrum management software. BTA will use the equipment to establish a nationwide network of spectrum monitors to monitor, control and license Botswana's wireless spectrum from 20 to 3,000 MHz. The spectrum monitors, many installed in remote locations, can all be controlled from the capital city of Gaborone.
John Capasso, President of Dielectric, commenting on the contract said, "BTA is leading the development of spectrum monitoring technology in Africa. As we expand our
systems globally, we appreciate this vote of confidence from such an innovative partner."
