Broadcast Facilities Inc., owner and operator of Andrita Media Center, has chosen the OmniBus Systems iTX as the platform for its next generation network origination facility. The first of BFI's multiphase operational expansion will be the new iTX-based system, which will be used to launch several networks as they migrate to Andrita.
The 106,000 square foot Andrita Media Center houses a fully integrated tapeless digital post-production environment including 40 Final Cut Pro HD/SD edit stations and three audio suites. It provides disaster recovery, transcode/encode digital media creation to all major encode specifications including VOD, digital media manipulation including metadata and digital file transfers via satellite, fiber and IP.
OmniBus iTX is a next-generation solution that replaces conventional broadcast automation, master control and playout chains. Combining all the functions of a traditional chain in a single, integrated suite of software applications, iTX is flexible, open and offers a configurable and responsive end-to-end solution for a range of operating environments. It supports HD and SD formats, and has the ability to integrate with third party systems.
“iTX expansion can be implemented quickly,” commented Bill Tillson, BFI's president and COO, “giving us the flexibility to expand capacity for new and existing customers. HD and SD signals can originate from the same platform maximizing efficiency and minimizing our investment. iTX supports our ongoing commitment to building a preeminent broadcast facility providing our clients an unsurpassed combination of services, operations and engineering talent in the most cost-effective manner."
"Using iTX, Andrita Media Center has been able to launch new, fully branded channels within days of receiving a new customer contract. Combining standard off-the-shelf IT servers and storage with a software-only, patent-pending suite of applications, iTX enables Andrita Media Center to offer its clients a highly competitive solution," said Tim Mendoza, EVP, OmniBus Systems.
