BBC Installs Accom Universal Format DDR

The BBC has installed an Accom WSD/HDe digital disk recorder in its post production graphics department.

The WSD/HDe DDR captures both SD and HD uncompressed video content and provides real time playback for rendered material as well as plug-and-play capabilities.
The DDR interfaces with graphics computers, film printers, tape machines and editing devices and can simultaneously transfer frames from clips to computers, disk drives or film printers that are connected to a network, all while recording.

Additionally, the WSD/HDe includes built-in Windows Media Encoder 9 Series capability. Users can customize encoding profiles, enabling HD clips to be delivered up to 19 Mbps.
