(March 19, 2004) New York, NY--JVC and Sony are going head-to-head with their new HDV format-based products. Sony showed off a prototype 1080i HDV camcorder at the recent CeBIT show in Germany. A press release from Sony Europe stated, "The demonstration will herald the fact that Sony plans to introduce a new camcorder, display, and video editing equipment based on the brand-new HDV format."
Meanwhile, JVC will offer a preview of its new 3-CCD ENG-style HDV camcorder at NAB. The new CU-VH1 clamshell HDV VCR will also be shown.
