Paul Carter and Geoff Harrison at Axis in the UK have partnered with Digital Praxis' Steve Shaw, Court TV's Ralston Humble and Warren Film Studios' Lee Warren to bring the new Axis Post facility to market.
The group has broad post-production expertise, including editorial, on-line, Digital Intermediate (DI), grading, visual effects and finishing, along with a wide range of market experience, from pop promos and commercials to TV, long-form TV and feature films.
The move allows Axis Hire, which provides HD and SD camera equipment for hire, and Axis Post, which specializes in DI-based post production, to offer a scene-to-screen workflow for all digital film projects, from short-form to long-form, in SD, HD, 2K and beyond.
The new Shepperton Studios-based Axis Post facility is due for completion early next month. It will offer clients a wide range of post-production facilities from offline all the way through to a full DI on-line editing and grading suite.
Among the technology offered will be a Quantel iQ grading system, mastering to a Sony SRW-5500 HDCAM-SR dual format studio recorder for post and finishing work.
There is also an Avid|DS HD suite for film and broadcast projects, as well as additional suites with workstations running Apple Final Cut Pro HD and Avid Xpress Pro HD software, complemented by Autodesk Combustion compositing and SOFTIMAGE|XSI 3D animation software.
