ATG Broadcast finishes BBC online edit suites

ATG Broadcast has completed the installation and commissioning of two new video edit suites for BBC Television.

Located in the former VT 15/16 edit suites at the Television Center in London, the new facilities are part of the BBC's continuing advance from videotape to file-based digital operation.

The new facilities are based on an Avid nonlinear video editing system and a new Pro-Bel multilevel Freeway router. The audio matrix is a 32 x 32 combined stereo analog/AES system. Additional distribution and digital processing equipment from Eyeheight, Kramer and Vistek were also installed.

Custom Consoles was chosen for the main desk, adjustable stack and acoustic racks. Yamaha digital audio mixing console, ATG audio monitoring and KRK loudspeakers were also installed. BNCS/Colledia automation systems were responsible for routing and configuration of the suite; BNCS’ software is controlled via touch screen.
