Ascent Media Systems & Technology Services has announced the promotion of two of its senior management to vice president to provide leadership to the company's operations in Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Alain Polgar has been appointed vice president for EMEA, responsible for all business and commercial aspects of the division in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Polgar will also oversee the region's sales and business development team.

Paul Wilkins has been promoted to vice president of technology & operations, with responsibility for all technology architecture and engineering as well as systems integration operations across EMEA.

Commenting on the promotions, Tom Canavan, executive vice president, systems & technology services at Ascent Media said: "Our team is seeing considerable traction in EMEA as recently evidenced by the signing of a major deal with French broadcaster TF1. With Alain and Paul heading up the operation, we have increased leadership in place to drive the continued expansion of our business and take advantage of the growing opportunities in the region".

Alain Polgar joined Ascent Media in April 2006 as director of sales, responsible for business development in Continental Europe, Israel and North Africa. Previously he held management, sales, and business development roles with Thomson, Fast Multimedia and Pinnacle, where he managed every aspect of the sales function including: management of key account sales; sales and presales teams; product marketing; creation of new sales offices and reseller networks, and cooperation with system integrators.

Wilkins has more than 25 years experience in the systems integration business, initially with BBC SCPD; followed by 18 years with Sony Broadcast and Professional Europe; five with Pinnacle Systems, and immediately before joining Ascent Media at Avid Technology Europe.
