Annual IEEE Broadcast Symposium to focus on managing DTV transition

Managing the transition to digital television will be the theme of the 58th IEEE Broadcast Symposium, Oct. 15-17, at the Westin Hotel in Alexandria, VA.

Put on by the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers’ (IEEE) Broadcast Technology Society (BTS), the symposium will be the last to be held before the DTV transition in February 2009.

The event will offer technical sessions at which Continuing Education Units (CEUs) can be earned. Richard Wiley, former FCC chairman and partner at Wiley, Rein in Washington, D.C.; as well as Peter Fannon, VP of technology policy, government and regulation for Panasonic; will address the symposium.
