All Mobile Video, a video/audio production service provider based in New York City, has completed assembly of a multicamera tapeless portable production system (dubbed "EX3 Carrypack") primarily using Sony camcorders (PMW-EX3) and Fujinon wide-angle lenses (including the XS13x3.3).
The HD system was designed for specialized coverage of sports, entertainment and other live venues.
The EX3 Carrypack's first major project came in early April with a multicamera studio production at All Mobile Video's Unitel Studio in Manhattan for a new game show earmarked for MTV, "Silent Library." The three-week shoot involved five EX3 cameras (using three Fujinon HA22x7.8 and two Fujinon XS13x3.3 lenses), one Iconix Studio2K "lipstick" cam with a single Fujinon 2.8X lens. Isolated, and line cut, shots were recorded with Sony XDCAM EX recorders.
