AJA XENA HD card delivers two-way uncompressed HD streaming at 3Gb/s

ResearchChannel is using AJA's XENA HD card to demonstrate two-way uncompressed video conferencing between locations.

ResearchChannel has demonstrated two-way, uncompressed 1080i video conferencing among Pittsburgh, PA, Seattle, WA, and Canberra, Australia, using the AJA XENA HD card.

A XENA HD card was in each location, installed in personal computers running on Microsoft Windows XP for both HD input and output.

The demonstration follows an October ResearchChannel experiment at Internet2 in Austin, TX.

The demonstrations used eight Intel computers - four at the SC04 event in Pittsburgh and two in both Seattle and Canberra. Each had a XENA board installed with the latest Intel PCI Express bus. Silicon Mechanics in Seattle supplied the systems.
