AJA Video capture cards now support new Mac Pro

AJA Video’s Io HD and KONA line of video capture and playback cards now include support for Apple’s new eight-core Mac Pro, which features the latest Quad-Core Intel Xeon 5400 series processors.

Continuing to improve the product line, the latest generation of Io video ingest and output devices and the company’s KONA capture and playback cards offer high-quality video image capture over Firewire for Apple’s Final Cut Studio. The also natively support Apple’s ProRes 422 format; allowing fast HD editing on MacBook Pro and Mac Pro computers.

Co-developed with Apple, Io HD works with Final Cut Pro to provide a seamless nonlinear editing experience. Featuring a variety of video and audio connectivity, it includes 10-bit hardware-based upconversion, crossconversion and downconversion, all performed in real time. Io HD also supports SD editing workflows.

KONA video capture cards offer uncompressed QuickTime, SD, HD, 2K and Dual Link HD via the PCIe-based KONA 3, KONA LHe (SD, HD and Analog only) and KONA LSe (SD and Analog only) products. Supporting a range of uncompressed SD or HD formats, including Dual Link and 2K, KONA cards capture and play back uncompressed 8-bit and 10-bit digital video and 24-bit digital audio, providing unparalleled power and workflow efficiency.

Combined with Apple’s Final Cut Studio, a KONA card delivers all the quality and function of a full-featured nonlinear editing suite at a fraction of the price.
