Voice technology service provider, Agile TV and SeaChange International have teamed up to create a voice-activated VOD system for the cable industry.
Agile's Promptu voice-activated search and navigation service has been integrated with the SeaChange VOD system and deployed in cable systems in technical and marketing trials.
"The integration with SeaChange marks the first time that voice navigation services have been merged with an On Demand platform," said David Hanson, senior vice president of business development of Agile TV, based in Menlo Park, Calif.
AgileTV technology is available to thousands of voice-enabled customers from a single cable headend, according to the company. SeaChange VOD services and software supports more than 100 broadband networks delivering video services since its deployment in 2000.
