Avid Technology Inc. is helping ABC News reach an all-digital production environment, the companies announced Oct. 31.
The transition is starting immediately with "World News Tonight," which is using an Avid Unity for News shared-media network environment to facilitate the simultaneous ingest, output and edit functions between workgroups. ABC will also use multiple Avid NewsCutter systems for flexible, collaborative workflow. Avid systems will also power ABC's News One service, which feeds footage and packaged stories to ABC affiliates around the world.
Avid has implemented all-digital newsrooms at more than 50 facilities worldwide, the company says.
