ABC News expands subscription Internet broadcasts
Perhaps the potential for webcasting over the Internet isn't dead after all.
The Internet arm of ABC News will soon enhance its subscription online news coverage. ABCNews.com, said its head, Bernard Gershon, is "taking baby steps toward the first Internet news network."
Gershon, in an interview with the Wall Street Journal , said the television news organization will expand its ABC News On Demand broadband service to include updated video news-including live feeds-throughout the day.
The new service will be called ABC News Live. Coverage will include live coverage of presidential news conferences and debates at the United Nations, Gershon said.
The Journal reported that the enhanced broadband service will be available through RealNetworks' premium service at a cost of $4.95 per month.
