FOCUS Enhancements, which recently acquired Visual Circuits, introduced the Visual Circuits Mantis MG media player at last month’s Digital Retailing Expo in San Francisco.
The device provides scheduled, live or interactive playback of content in most media formats. It supports up to four high-definition or eight standard-definition independent outpus from a single rack-mount system. The device’s modular expansion chassis starts with two output channels and expands both number and type of media outputs as requirements change and grow.
The centralized architecture supports multiple “big box” media applications, including satellite and terrestrial multicasts, with 32-bit accelerated graphics output. The Media gateway features include content caching, media management and playback, network monitoring and control and third-party device control.
