The ProStar VideoPlus display for Tower Records’ Sunset Strip store in California features the latest advancements in LED video technology.

Brookings, SD-based Daktronics recently completed installation of a new ProStar VideoPlus display for Tower Records’ landmark store on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, CA.

The LED video display, which measures 22x28 feet, is intended to revitalize the original 1969 storefront. The display features the latest advancements in LED video technology and strengthens Tower’s vision of the company’s brand and its visibility in the heart of the music and entertainment industry.

With the overall goal of enhancing customers’ buying experience and creating a fun atmosphere, six minutes of dedicated entertainment content spins non-stop on the display. Half of the program wheel is dedicated to advertisements for Tower Records clients, promoting latest releases, special campaigns and other offers. The other half of the program wheel blends entertainment news and information, live performances, and Tower Records brand identity.

The ProStar display, located at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Horn Avenue, will be exposed to an estimated yearly traffic of more than 13.8 million people. The display is comprised of 100,096 pixels with 23mm center-to-center spacing. Daktronics’ ProStar technology uses the latest in red, green and blue LED technology to present live and recorded video images, colorful animation and vivid graphics with enhanced brightness and wide-angle visibility. The video display technology offers a long lifetime with minimal maintenance and low power consumption.
