Playstream and Safshop launch pay-per-view over Web

Playstream offers a complete end-to-end solution for storing, managing, securing, monitoring and delivering a company’s digital media content over the Internet.

PlayStream, a Seattle-based provider of streaming media hosting services, and SafShop, a specialist in secure, real-time online credit card processing technologies, have announced a collaboration service that enables PlayStream customers to monetize their media by integrating digital rights management services for pay-per-view functionality.

Designed to work with Microsoft’s Windows Media 9 series technologies, PlayStream gives customers the choice to integrate Safshop’s Web-based credit card ordering platform while ensuring proper licensing for processing pay-per-view transactions seamlessly over the Web.

Blake Lindsay, Playstream’s chief software architect, said that historically, online credit card transactions required extensive programming and development without compromising the integrity of delivering secure media content. By collaborating with SafShop, they are now able to offer customers a secure way to deliver media content with the use of leading digital rights management technology and build a new revenue stream utilizing SafShop’s integrated order processing services.

Playstream offers a complete end-to-end solution for storing, managing, securing, monitoring and delivering a company’s digital media content over the Internet. The new pay-per-view new service is specifically targeted at small-to-medium companies, giving them the option to customize delivery solutions easily and seamlessly.
