Octopus Newsroom introduces planning feature for Octopus5

Octopus Newsroom has introduced a new approach to story planning for its Octopus5 newsroom computer system. The solution is appropriate for both planning stories in the long-run or in the short-term.

The approach simplifies the planning process. When a story folder is marked as a planning container in Octopus5, a simple text field can be added. Planners type in information they find interesting with the possibility of seeing it directly in the story list. A story can be scheduled for a particular date or a date range, and the calendar preview immediately shows the number of stories scheduled for a day.

The calendar also works as a selector, helping planners see only the stories scheduled between particular dates. When a range is picked, stories are listed in a view, where the dates are clearly marked by dividers.
