New Al Jazeera International global news centers to rely on Vizrt
By TVTechnology published
English-language Al Jazeera International, which will begin broadcasting globally in the first quarter of 2006, has ordered an HD Vizrt package as the core graphics system for its four broadcast centers.
The systems are being installed in the network’s headquarters in Doha, Qatar, as well as broadcast centers in London, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Washington, D.C. The installations are due to be completed by the end of the year.
The Vizrt HD system will provide the latest technology for breaking news graphics, maps and template graphics, all accessible through an Octopus newsroom system. News producers will be able to access animations and template files created in any of the broadcast centers through constantly mirrored graphics file servers permanently connected to one another across the globe.
