Miranda recently provided the branding, monitoring and interfacing systems to play out cable, satellite and mobile TV channels associated with NAB-HD, the fully functional HD broadcast station at NAB2006.
In the master control room, NAB-HD used Miranda's Imagestore HD/SD master control and channel branding processors with a PresStation panel for control of high-impact graphics. A multiformat Kaleido-K2 multi-image display processor was fully integrated with the master control switching system, as well as Miranda's iControl end-to-end facility monitoring and control system.
On the show floor, NAB-HD used HDV cameras for live reports and interviews. By using Miranda's HD-Bridge DEC+ HDV to HD/SD interface for the editing and playout, it offered HD content at a lower cost than traditional HD capture.
