Ciprico announces Interoperability of 4-Gig MediaVault storage with Blackmagic Design DeckLink HD Pro

Blackmagic Design has certified Ciprico’s Huge MediaVault 4105 and 4210 storage arrays as fully compatible with the Blackmagic DeckLink HD Pro line of video capture cards. The Ciprico arrays are certified as compatible with Blackmagic Design’s DeckLink HD, HD Plus, and HD Pro 4:2:2 video capture cards. The MediaVault 4210 is also compatible with the DeckLink HD Pro 4:4:4 card.

Ciprico’s MediaVault 4105 and 4210 arrays entry-level 4-Gig RAID storage solutions offer Fibre Channel installation, resilience to signal interference, and increased cable distances. The 4105/4210 operate in direct-attached or storage area network (SAN) environments. The five-drive, single-channel MediaVault 4105 records and plays back up to six uncompressed SD video streams, as well as 10-bit 1080i HD content. The array delivers throughput performance up to 300MB/s in RAID-0 mode, and 240MB/s in RAID-3 mode. The 10-drive, dual-channel MediaVault 4210 also supports 10-bit 1080i HD and delivers up to seven uncompressed SD video streams. It is capable of performance up to 600MB/s in RAID-0 mode and sustained performance of 350MB/s in RAID-3 mode.

Blackmagic Design’s DeckLink HD Pro product line bundles capture card hardware with a range of software utilities that facilitate editing and post-production in high-end television and feature film arenas. The DeckLink HD Pro offers a fully digital, uncompressed 10-bit HDTV and NTSC/PAL video card capable of switching between SD and HD video. The DeckLink HD Pro cards connect to Mac or Windows-based desktop workstations or to any SDI-based SD or HD broadcast digital deck.
