A-Medialynx selects SeaChange

SeaChange’s MediaClient architecture enables A-Medialynx to store video assets in one place and streamline operations by employing an “edit-in-place, play-in-place” workflow.

A-Medialynx has deployed digital video systems from SeaChange to air MTV Germany’s line-up of music videos and entertainment television.

A-Medialynx is the production facility and play-to-air service provider for the three German channels owned by Viacom — Nickelodeon, MTV Germany and VIVA. It is deploying SeaChange’s IT-based MediaClient architecture to develop an integrated workflow between content capture and on-air program playback for its network television clients.

SeaChange’s MediaClient architecture enables A-Medialynx to store video assets in one place and streamline operations by employing an “edit-in-place, play-in-place” workflow. A-Medialynx centralizes multichannel on-air playout with a SeaChange MediaLibrary 24000e supported by six MediaClient software codecs.

Further, A-Medialynx ties Apple Final Cut Pro editors to SeaChange’s MediaLibrary for tapeless networked broadcast operation. The facility also integrates Aveco automation software with the MediaClient architecture. SeaChange’s partner, Digital Video Computing (DVC), is chief system integrator for A-Medialynx’s network operation.

Based on the Common Internet File System (CIFS), the MediaClient family is a series of standards-based client/server products optimized to support workflow throughout the television enterprise, regardless of video file type or compression scheme. The MediaClient architecture leverages SeaChange’s MediaLibrary, which provides compression and file-independent video storage.
