Terayon to Demo New BP 5100 Features

Terayon Communications Systems will showcase new features of its 5100 splicer at the company's NAB booth.

New features include extensions to its digital graphic insertion capabilities and improved flexibility of the channel branding and on-screen graphics that broadcasters can insert directly into their programming. The new features mean that users no longer need to decode and re-encode digital programming, allowing broadcasters to retain the native quality of SD and HD content.

Additionally, the BP5100 enables network affiliates to localize branding at distribution points closest to viewers and to begin deploying new advertising models that address the concerns of the industry regarding the viability of traditional linear commercials, according to the Santa Clara, Calif.-based company.

Terayon will be in Booth SU11316.
