Raysat Antenna Debuts Mobile Antenna for Satellite TV, Internet

Mobile communications provider RaySat has unveiled a vehicle-based, low-profile satellite antenna for receiving satellite TV and in-motion, high-speed Internet.

The new SpeedRay 3000 is designed for recreational, commercial and public safety vehicles. The roof-mounted antenna turns any vehicle into a "hot spot," enabling "road warriors" using laptops, PDA or other WiFi-enabled devices to surf the Internet while on the go. The system's WiFi transceiver supports most wireless networking standards that are built into the dish antenna housing and requires no additional installation or connections.

Users can expect up to 2 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 128 Kbps, shared among other users in the vehicle. Also, the SpeedRay 3000 can provide users with hundreds of DISH satellite TV and music channels.

GPS-tracking and phased-array technology provide continuous signal feeds.
