beyerdynamic to Show 5.1 Monitoring Headset at IBC

At IBC, beyerdynamic will display the PRO XT, a new headset in its Headzone series for monitoring 5.1 audio.

The headset uses DSP technology and the company’s “binaural environmental modeling” to achieve surround-sound reproduction in a standard stereo headphone. Adding to the realism is an ultrasonic head-tracking system, which reports the orientation of the listener’s head with respect to material being monitored and makes audio adjustments accordingly.

The Headzone system allows users to model the loudspeaker system and acoustics of a particular listening room and recall it at any time. The system is also equipped with an adjustable communications input with volume control and a second headphone output. It includes a password-protected limiter for hearing protection.

beyerdynamic will be at Stand 8.D67.
