TeamCreations' Audio Studio Aids Yoo Hoo Mrs. Goldberg

The metro-area’s premiere High Definition post production company is lending its audio expertise in the push to establish Washington, D.C. as ‘Docuwood’. TeamCreations’ Skip SoRelle, MPSE, worked with filmmaker Aviva Kempner to sound design and mix her latest independent documentary film, Yoo Hoo Mrs. Goldberg. This humorous documentary tells the story of a woman behind the scenes and in front of the camera, Gertrude Berg. Berg’s successful 1920s radio program, The Goldbergs, crossed over into the medium of TV, becoming one of the industry’s first hit series and the model for many of today’s sitcoms.

Kempner, who produced and directed the film, masterfully re-created and enhanced Berg’s original family sitcom utilizing TeamCreations’ advanced sound technology and experienced talent. SoRelle, whose previous film sound design and mix credits include Paper Clips, JFK: A Presidency Revealed, and The Johnstown Flood (1990 Oscar® winner, Best Documentary short) explains that, “like all successful filmmakers, Aviva Kempner understands the importance of sound to help tell the story. Her passion for sound was demonstrated most clearly when she offered to go into the booth and foley some of the human sound elements herself.” Correspondingly, Ms. Kempner relates her TeamCreations experience noting “that SoRelle’s sound archives are vast and his patience and insights even more so.” TeamCreations’ houses fully-equipped ProTools HD suites with an advanced audio restoration system, the ability to create original compositions, and one of the largest sound libraries in the country.

The film is now showing at theaters nationwide in limited release and is garnering high marks from film critics. TeamCreations’ is honored to have been a part of introducing “The Most Famous Woman You’ve Never Heard Of” to audiences.
