VINTEN RADAMEC PRESENTS QUATTRO SE - THE ULTIMATE MANUAL PEDESTAL TRACKING SOLUTION FOR VIRTUAL STUDIOS
Vinten Radamec, a Vitec Group brand and a leading provider of robotics broadcast systems, introduces the Quattro SE. This lightweight, compact, manually-operated pedestal offers built in encoders for optimum integration into today‘s virtual studios.
Developed from the award-winning Quattro S, the new SE model offers all the benefits of the ergonomically assisted lifting column, the convenient doorway width, and the on shot performance of the Vinten pedestal.
High quality precision encoders have been integrated into the wheels and column, providing precise real time digital electronic positioning over the floor and during elevation.
To negate the impact of the ‘scrubbing‘ or wheel dragging experienced with other encoder equipped virtual pedestals, an algorithm has been developed which uses the motion data from each of the seven encoders to provide an error correction estimate. This delivers an improvement in accuracy ten times greater than other pedestal tracking solutions.
To deliver accurate position data for all axes, two electronics modules, a base processor and a head processor are included.
Also included is a PDA which provides the configuration and operational user interface. This not only simplifies virtual studio set-up, it also provides the operator with useful positional feedback and calibration data.
In keeping with Vinten Radamec‘s aim to simplify tracking solutions, output from the pedestal is integrated with position feedback from the 950E and 250E head and lens into a single clocked channel to the rendering system of a virtual software image generator.
