MRC's DUAL DIVERSITY RECEIVER SETS RECORD AT PRESTIGIOUS SINGAPORE TURF CLUB

MRC‘s Dual Diversity Receiver Sets Record

at Prestigious Singapore Turf Club

Solid live coverage of two-day event around the tract, crowd, and underground tunnel

North Billerica, Massachusetts, August 27, 2007 - Microwave Radio Communications (MRC) announced that it‘s new dual diversity digital microwave receiver, MDR-2, passed rigorous tests and provided flawless reception of world-class horse racing at the prestigious Singapore Turf Club in Singapore. The system performed impeccably, and the Club had so much faith in the system after initial tests, that it was used for the Club‘s two day event for live shots on the giant outdoor screen. There was never a break in the system.

MRC‘s David Ayotte worked with MRC‘s Asian representative, as well as Singapore Turf Club personnel, to put the MDR-2 demonstration together. MRC‘s camera-back transmitter was mounted on the roof of the van that follows the race leaders around the course. The video signal was then sent to the MDR-2 dual diversity receiver at the clubhouse.

There is always quite a bit of local interference with adjacent frequencies at outdoor events, and previous equipment used by the Turf Club fell vulnerable to adjacent frequencies. Problem spots at certain areas of the race course always resulted in video failure. The MRC MDR-2 solved the reception problems. They never lost the signal. From all outdoor locations, around the trace facility and even through the underground tunnel where the camera picked up the horses coming in and out of the paddock areas, reception remained rock-solid. Something up until now hadn‘t been achieved at this type of venue.

The MDR-2 is a portable dual diversity microwave receiver that can be rapidly deployed to cover sports, news and events from the ground, air or moving vehicle. The MDR-2 diversity system uses multiple antennas and sophisticated electronics to minimize any chance of a weak or lost signal that can result using a roving wireless camera.

“This latest demonstration strengthens our position in the market,” stated David Emma, VP of Sales at MRC. “MRC‘s proprietary technology is yielding results that are unprecedented when it comes to live high definition digital coverage of sporting events and breaking news. We‘re giving television directors and producers another tool that improves coverage and reliability in just about any situation, even getting video out from underground or enclosed areas.”
