Weigel Shoots Business, Kids Shows With JVC ProHD

August 10, 2007
WCIU, a Weigel Broadcasting station in Chicago, has chosen JVC’s ProHD GY-HD250 as the exclusive camera for First Business, a syndicated news program, as well as for Green Screen Adventures, a new children’s program.

First Business uses the cameras in the studio and in the field, where the cameras use JVC’s DR-HD100 HD hard disk recorders. The program is seen on more than 90 affiliates.

“The thing that impressed by about the GY-HD250 is that for the money, the camera is pretty hard to beat,” said Kyle Walker, Weigel’s director of engineering. “Especially for field use, our camera guys, who have used more expensive cameras, were really blown away with all the features that were built into the GY-HD250 at that price point.”

The camcorders record directly onto the Avid Adrenaline editing system.
